About AshGallery
AshGallery is a company that consists of a group of independent photographers raising awareness about our culture, our community and conditions in Zanzibar through photography. The island is filled with a way of life mostly inaccessible to outsiders; we take photographs of the untouched Zanzibar and share with the world. We capture the Swahili culture, traditions and communities through artistic, creative and realistic images of Zanzibar. We provide a look of Zanzibar from the perspective of local Zanzibaris. We have strong skills in wildlife photography, street photography, portraits, architectural photography and much more.
As AshGallery, we strongly believe in the importance of giving back and supporting our community efforts.
AshGallery is one of three recipients of the 2018 UNESCO Heritage Award Winner and 2019 best photographer of the year in ZANZIBAR YOUTH AWARDS.

Urithi Wetu Cultural Group
A traditional music and dance group from Pemba, Urithi Wetu Cultural Group brings the authentic drums, sounds and movements from the island of Pemba.
'Urithi Wetu' means 'Our Heritage', which they proudly present to viewers across the isles of Zanzibar.
We are thrilled to be the first place in Zanzibar where they are performing as a collective, and it will undoubtedly be a unique viewing and listening experience.
